New Resident Information

Welcome Packets are available at the city office.  Kansas Gas is the natural gas supplier, Galaxy Cable TV has an 

office in town.  Southwestern Bell is the phone company.  The Dickinson County Courthouse is located in Abilene, KS.  

This is the location for voter registration and  Division of Motor Vehicles, for car tags and license renewals.

Utility Services

City of Chapman has Water, Sewer, and Electricity forms for Utility Service (fill out and mail to the City Office)

Utility meters are read around the 23rd of a month and mailed to the customers on the 1st day of the month and 

due by the 20th of that month.  After hours city utility problems call (785) 922-6211 

Required Permits

Building permits-additions, decks, new buildings.  Fence Permits.  All permits require an application and fee.

Dog Licenses

Two dogs are allowed per household.  The city requires city dog license fees:  $1.00 for male, $2.00 for female.  

The owner must provide proof of rabies vaccination certificate.  A dog leash is in effect in the city limits.
